Green Smoothie Holdout Gives In

November 16, 2009

I had my first green smoothie last week, and I think I”m hooked!  I heard about them for so long before I actually tried one.   I have to admit, I guess I just didn’t “get it.”  I couldn’t understand what a green smoothie actually was and why it was so good for you.

I have been looking at different recipes lately and getting accustomed to what actually goes into a green smoothie.  I always thought the drinks looked pretty, but still didn’t give in to them until very recently.

So, last week, I tried one and it was really good!  Here’s what I put in it:

1 pear

6 strawberries

1 cup spring mix

Almost a cup of water

I have had it three times since then and am still enjoying it.  I just printed off some other recipes to try,  so I think I”ll keep going on this little adventure!

Yum! Sounds delicious!! So glad you’re getting into green smoothies – they’re the bestest!

I put a handful (or two) of baby spinach leaves in mine. YUM! :-D

That is cool! I’m glad you like them. Once you’ve had one, you get hooked. :)
